What an October part 4! The 13th Cool Logistics Global took place in a virtual environment (on the same dates as Multimodal!). Liaison was delighted to support the Team with marketing and sales services.

What an October part 3! Multimodal Awards was an sell-out absolutely brilliant evening. Hosted by Kevin Keegan the evening was fantastic from start to finish – not even a fire evacuation in the rain smack bang in the middle of the ceremony could dampen the spirits!

What an October! MBE London ran in it’s new home at the Business Design Centre on 14th October and was a huge roaring success. Such a light and airy venue welcomed attendees for a very busy day.

We ran a live Event! With real people – and it felt so good! It was a rip roaring success with everyone delighted to be out doing business in person. We ran some cracking seminar sessions and all in all it was a great return to business.

With the events industry still uncertain to its start date, we repositioned the Multimodal brand to enhance all the elements it encompasses, continuing to offer the community with other revenue streams and ways to connect.

Cool Logistics Global repositioned itself to a 3 day virtual conference – with a virtual Awards ceremony and a Martini masterclass. Liaison provided marketing support up to the event, ran the social media campaign during the event, plus supported the post-event marketing activities.

As the events business in 2020 was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, we addressed this by providing a series of webinars for the supply chain management industry, introducing new branding Multimodal Connect and presenting them on a networking platform to continue the peer-to-peer contact that the live event upholds.

MBE London a huge success
It’s fanastic when you great excellent feedback – one of our favourites is “The key benefit to MBE is that you see more mortgage brokers here than you would do at any other exhibition in the UK’
The day was a huge success, finishing on a high with Rob Elder of the Bank of England presenting the Bank’s latest economic forecasts and the outlook for interest rates. Brexit did come up more than once!
Liaison stepped in to fulfil the marketing and delivery of the 21st edition of the SCL Summit & Expo, running parallel sessions on site certainly kept us busy!

ICHCA International 20/20 Cargo Vision Conference
Looks like we are off to Malta!
We are delighted to announce that Liaison Communications have picked up a new client. We are now looking after the marketing and media partnerships for the ICHCA (International Cargo Handling Coordination Association) 20/20 Cargo Vision Conference.
The conference will bring all the stakeholders together to explore how to create safer, more sustainable and secure maritime cargo operations across land and sea.
Multimodal – attracting new talent
Just a month later and we were back at the NEC – no rest for the wicked! This time we have been busy marketing Multimodal to the supply chain and logistics industry and were on-site to give a helping hand to the ops team.
For the first time at the show, day 3 focused on ‘Next Generation – Tomorrow’s World, Today’, a whole day dedicated to attracting talent to logistics by showcasing the exciting careers, long-term prospects and up-skilling opportunities within the sector. The day was such a success Multimodal will be holding it again in 20/20.

FIT Show does it again!
Once again the FIT Show welcomed thousands of fabricators, installers, architects and specifiers through the doors. We are pleased to say that the marketing effort saw an increase in pre-registrations – well done Team Liaison Communications!

Cheers to the winners!
The Multimodal team were delighted to raise a glass to the winners of the Freight Transport Association Awards at a glittering champagne reception at the Royal Lancaster. The Awards provided the industry with the opportunity to recognise colleagues who have excelled in their chosen fields of rail, road, air or sea.
Dara Ó Briain provided the laughs and Chris Grayling provided the welcome speech.
The evening was so enjoyable Jayne lost track of time and missed her train home!! Although, it wasn’t the same without Sara, who missed the party due to a nasty bug.

Celebrity guest appearance
Homes under the Hammer and I’m a Celebrity star, Martin Roberts, will be giving an opening speech at the London MBE. Martin is a property expert, investor, entrepreneur and author, whose insight into the property market will be highly relevant to visitors and who knows, he might give an insight into how to lose weight on an insect diet!

Mortgage Sleep Out
Over 86,000 young people asked their local authorities for help last year because they felt they were, or at risk of being, homeless. The #MortgageSleepOut aims to bring together the mortgage industry in one united voice to raise awareness on the growing plight of homelessness across the UK and raise the vital funds to support End Youth Homelessness (EYH).

The inaugural Multimodal Americas
Having run Multimodal for the past 12 years, Clarion have decided to expand into the North American transport and logistics industry and will be hosting the first event alongside the Air Cargo Forum in Toronto. We are really excited that Liaison have been chosen, for their knowledge and experience, to promote this event to a new target market overseas. Keeping my fingers crossed for a trip to Toronto!

Multimodal Ambassadors on-hand to guide the way
This year students from Telford College came to lend a hand at Multimodal and were dotted about the NEC, ensuring that visitors could find their way around.
Phillipa, who took charge of the group, was very impressed with the maturity that they displayed and commented, ‘It gave them a real insight to behind the scenes at an event and what a full day at work was like and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The majority of them sat in on the NextGen sessions on day 3, which most found useful, insofar as it broadened their minds as to what type of jobs are out there. After talking to the exhibitors one student got offered a position, for when he finishes college and a female student who thought logistics was a ‘male’ environment decided that she wanted to pursue a career in logistics after attending the NextGen session. Once they had overcome their initial shyness, the students blossomed and gained so much confidence.’
It looks like we will be using the ambassadors again!

MBE Leeds once again was well received by both the exhibitors and visitors.
Mike was delighted with the response as figures were up yet again. ‘There is a strong finance community in Yorkshire and brokers, IFAs and introducers are finding it increasingly beneficial talking directly with specialist lenders and service providers about their latest products and MBE provides that platform for those discussions.’

On 23 March 2018, Sara attended a glittering awards ceremony hosted by Exhibition News, with over a thousand worldwide exhibition industry professionals. Sara was over the moon to be presented with a trophy for Best Trade Show Marketing Campaign, for the FIT Show, ‘this award represents all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes of any marketing campaign.’
